Frequently Asked Questions

We represent many different boats and yachts. Each yacht has different qualities, pricing structures, and menu selections. Our job is to present these options, help narrow down the choices with you, and book the yacht that is right for you.

Please call us. We like to speak to our clients individually, so we can give you a Personal Touch. We encourage you to make an appointment with us aboard the yacht of your choice, so you can see first hand what we have to offer.

Before we speak, it is often helpful to read our Frequently Asked Questions.

How do we begin?
Reading these Q&A’s is great! We have set up our website like a virtual brochure to guide you. If you’re not quite sure of what you want, looking at photos will help. The more you can describe yourself, your function, and your needs – the more easily we can serve you. After browsing our site, please fill out our reservation form and we will give you a call and email you back with specific pricing information.  The most important question is..HOW MANY GUESTS ARE YOU EXPECTING?  This will determine the yacht size.  Please be aware that max capacities are not the same as average capacities.  So, a yacht may have a max capacity of 149, for example, but average size guests could be 40 – 80 people.

How much does it cost to charter a yacht?
We specialize in private yacht charters, as opposed to public cruises where you are paying for a ticket with other guests.  And there’s an old saying…”you get what you pay for.”  The cost is directly related to the quality of what you are getting.
Every yacht is priced differently.  Please understand that when you charter a vessel exclusively, there are minimum costs, and pricing is presented differently.  Some have minimum guest counts.  Others have a minimum price for up to a certain amount of guests.  Basically, however the pricing is presented, you are essentially paying for a charter fee to rent the yacht plus food/beverage minimums.  Costs depend on how upscale the yacht is, how large, etc.   When you narrow down your selections, we email you specific pricing and menu options for that boat. Charter fees range depending on the size of the boat, style, and whether it is a weeknight, weekday, or weekend. Normally, for a private charter, there is a fee to rent the yacht (anywhere from $500 to $4,000 per hour) plus menu, bar, and docking fees.  Many yachts bulk the pricing together in a per person rate which includes a 3-hour cruise, bar, buffet (Prices ranges from $85 – $150pp).  In addition, there is crew/labor fees, dockage and tax.

All Inclusive price?
Yes.
Often
a larger yacht will combine the price all in one. Package pricing is often available. Party boats and sailboats are priced differently.

How do I reserve and secure a date?
First, you tell us which dates you’re looking for and the boats you’re interested in. If you have a total budget or a budget per person, we can direct you more easily. We check the availability so we can put a hold on a date for you. A hold ensures that if someone else wants that date, you have the first right of refusal. To secure a date, we send you a contract and require a deposit. Deposit amounts vary from yacht to yacht. Balances are paid in full 30 days before your charter.

How much per person, approximately?
If there is a charter fee, then menus range from $30-$75per person. Premium Open Bar packages range from $20-$25per person (for the entire length of the cruise).

How long do the charters last?
Minimum sailing is 3 hours. We give you 1/2 hour to board and 1/2 hour to disembark. For weddings, we recommend four hours cruising on the water.

Where does the ship go?
Our ships cruise the Hudson and East Rivers, past the skyscrapers of Manhattan including the Empire State Building. You’ll also see the Intrepid Sea- Air Space museum, the Brooklyn Bridge, South Street Seaport and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge — the second-longest single-span suspension bridge in the world. Of course, the highlight of our cruise is the Statue of Liberty, one of the most celebrated landmarks in the world.

What kind of food is served?
Our yachts feature buffet or sit-down service, with delicious choices prepared on board by our executive chefs and their galley staffs. Choose the yacht of your choice, and preview our menus. Selections include beef, poultry and seafood with fresh vegetables, salads, rolls with butter, and dessert. With advance notice, we can accommodate requests for kosher meals, and we can arrange special meals for guests with allergies. Other specialty menus are available. Speak to one of our NY Yacht Representatives for more information.

Can I bring my own caterer?
All of our yachts provide excellent catering and we can usually accommodate many requests. Only a few yachts allow outside catering, and there is usually a galley fee charged. People don’t realize that our onboard staff is still needed to oversee the kitchen, serve, wash dishes, set tables, etc.  No yacht will allow you to bring your own alcohol onboard.

Do you have DJ entertainment, flowers, tour guide, etc?
For parties, weddings, and events – this is a one stop shopping center. Some yachts provide in-house DJs, and we have excellent entertainment and an amazing florist we recommend. Also, if you’re having out-of-town guests, you might consider one of our very knowlegable NYC Tour Guides.

How early should I arrive for my cruise?
We generally board the vessel 1/2 hour prior to the cruise, unless prior arrangements are made for special catering and florists.

Do you sail in foul weather?
Absolutely. Our ships are fully enclosed and climate-controlled for your comfort. We sail — rain or shine — year round.

Will I get seasick?
It’s unlikely. The ships operate in New York Harbor, on the Hudson River and the East River, which are all very calm bodies of water. What’s more, our ships are large and very stable, so in most cases, you can hardly tell that they’re moving.

What is your smoking policy?
Smoking is not allowed in the dining room areas of our ships. However, smoking is permitted on the outer decks.
